Tips to Gain Confidence

Confidence is something that almost every girl struggles with. We always question everything about ourselves: our weight, our height, our face, etc. It’s even harder to be confident with yourself during quarantine when we have the whole day to scroll through social media and Tik Tok, looking at all the “perfect” girls.

Everyone around us says that we should have self-love, but finding that love takes more than a friend or family telling you to have it. Even with all of this conspiring against girls, we CAN find confidence and love. However, this will take effort and will be difficult, but to get started, here are a couple of things you can try:
1. Dress Nicely: Dressing nicely is the first step to feeling more confident. When you put on an outfit that makes you feel good, you will be able to walk around with your head up high. By wearing your best clothes, you’ll feel unstoppable. It’s hard to believe that such a simple thing can boost your self-confidence, but try it for yourself and you’ll see how much of a change it can make!

2. Stop Worrying About What Others Think: This one is a hard one because we, as humans, are always thinking about what other people think of us, but we shouldn’t be. Once you realize that you are you and no one has the right to judge you, you will realize that it will be so much easier to be confident. You won’t worry about being judged and will be more liberated. To stop worrying about the people who judge you, you need to remind yourself that you define yourself, you will always be loved, and that you can do/be anything that you want!
3. Be Prepared: Being prepared can also boost your self-confidence. If you know what’s coming, you will be able to deal with anything with much more finesse and confidence. By preparing yourself for different scenarios, you will always know what to expect therefore you won’t doubt yourself. For example, if you have auditions and you practice every night, you will feel much more confident compared to if you didn’t practice. So all you have to do is prepare yourself, to the best of your ability, for life.
4. Exercise: Yes, this is probably the last thing you want to do, but exercise can help you feel more confident. Exercise will make you happier when seeing your body. You will have higher self-esteem because you will know that you are taking care of and toning your body. Your body-image will be much more positive, which will help you be more confident in your body.

5. Smile: This is a very simple way to be more confident. When you smile, you release endorphins. This hormone makes you feel happier and boosts your self-esteem. By smiling more, you will release more endorphins and become more confident. When you are happy, you forget about any judgment, which helps with your self-confidence.
These tips will help you boost your confidence. It may take some time and effort, but your self-esteem will be through the roof! Remember, you are beautiful just the way you are, and you shouldn’t change yourself for anyone. Everyone has their own talents, even if you don’t believe you have any.
